Artist Statement

I am captivated by the architecture of nature—the ancient shapes, ridges, and geologic formations that took millennia to build. My background as a graphic designer directly informs my approach to the canvas, guiding how I dissect a landscape down to its structural core. I approach the canvas by simplifying and distilling the organic world into bold, hard-edged geometric forms and flat color fields. Whether painting specific, meaningful locations or working entirely from memory, my goal is to capture the underlying emotional energy of a place.
