January Collection
For January, we are thrilled to share a newsletter of Folk Art, hand-carved sculptures by Jon Wigren. Jon, a New England artist, has work at the Whitney Museum in New York, the RISD Museum, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM), the Addison Gallery, and many in private collections. Fun fact, one piece we are offering (ball in box) is quite similar to one David Bowie bought from Jon for his personal collection.

Artist's Statement
I spent a large portion of my youth on and along the Hudson River. The road I lived on in Nyack, New York, dead-ended there. This proximity to the river and my family's summer spent on Block Island R.I., probably explains my fascination with and exploration of fish. This continued during High School art and followed me at R.I.S.D where I received a BA degree in 1968.
I continue this interest as we now live in East Orleans, Ma. I've always enjoyed carving wood, a once growing medium, into other forms that also grow...fruit, fish and birds.
